Cultivating Growth, Independence, and Confidence at Prince William Academy
In the Lower School program at Prince William Academy, students in Grades 3–6 build on a strong academic foundation while developing greater independence, responsibility, and critical thinking. Serving families across Prince William County, VA and the Woodbridge area, our curriculum blends core academics with creative, collaborative projects that keep learning engaging and purposeful. Students are encouraged to explore their interests, deepen their understanding, and prepare with confidence for the challenges of middle school and beyond.

Prince William Academy’s Lower School offers a structured yet adaptable learning environment that challenges students while recognizing and supporting different learning styles, abilities, and strengths. During these years, students develop study habits and organizational skills that support long-term success. They strengthen reading comprehension, writing, and analytical thinking while working with age-appropriate content that shows them learning can be both enjoyable and rewarding.
Through an inquiry-based approach, students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate topics more deeply, and take on more complex academic challenges. We support students as they take intellectual risks, grow as independent learners, and build confidence in their own voice and ideas. In a nurturing environment that emphasizes academic achievement, social responsibility, and personal growth, our teachers guide students with clear expectations, encouragement, and consistent support—helping every child make meaningful progress and reach their potential.
