Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. At Prince William Academy, we strive to make the admissions process clear, welcoming, and supportive every step of the way. From your first tour to your child’s first day of school, here’s what you can expect.

1. Schedule Your Tour
The admissions journey begins by booking a tour through the Schedule a Tour link on our website. Families are encouraged to bring a list of questions and even their child, if they’d like. A school tour gives students a chance to see the campus for the first time, explore classrooms, and meet teachers.
2. Your Visit to Prince William Academy
When you arrive, our Head of School or a member of the Admissions Team will greet you. During the tour, you’ll:
Learn about our curriculum and teaching approach
See classrooms, common areas, and facilities
Ask any questions about academics, extracurriculars, or school life
This is your opportunity to picture your child as part of the Prince William Academy community.
3. Enrollment Information
At the end of your tour, families receive an enrollment packet with details on:
Tuition and fees
The school calendar
Program offerings
Key policies and next steps
4. Application & Student Observation/Assessment
Families ready to apply can do so through our enrollment platform, Brightwheel. As part of the admissions process, we also schedule an observation or assessment for your child:
Kindergarten, Grade 1, and younger: Students join a class for an informal observation. This allows teachers to get to know your child and helps your child feel comfortable in the classroom.
Grade 2 and above: Students complete a short academic assessment (15–30 minutes) to ensure the program is a strong fit and to understand their learning needs.
5. Enrollment Confirmation
Once the observation or assessment is complete and your application is approved, you’ll confirm enrollment by submitting the deposit, registration fee, and book/materials fee. This secures your child’s place at Prince William Academy.
6. Preparing for the First Day
After enrollment is confirmed, families receive follow-up emails with details about orientation, the first day of school, and other key information. Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for your child and your family.
Admissions FAQs
When should I apply to Prince William Academy?
Applications are accepted year-round as long as space is available. However, many grade levels fill quickly. Families are encouraged to apply as early as possible - ideally before January for the upcoming school year — to have the best chance of securing placement and accessing the widest availability of programs.
Does my child need to attend the tour?
Children are welcome to attend tours, but it is not required. Many families find it helpful for their child to see the classrooms and meet teachers in advance.
What is the admissions assessment like?
For students in Grade 2 and above, the assessment is short (15–30 minutes) and helps us understand your child’s academic needs. Younger students participate in an informal classroom observation.
How do I secure my child’s enrollment?
After your child’s application is approved, enrollment is confirmed once the deposit, registration fee, and book/materials fee are submitted.
Who can I contact with admissions questions?
Families can reach our Admissions Team anytime at admissions@princewilliamacademy.com or by using the Schedule a Tour form on our website.
